Heavy Duty Paper ShredderA heavy duty paper shredder is high capacity shredder that would be found in the large office and is typically used for continuous shredding. Heavy duty shredders are large machines capable of shredding a higher number of sheets per a pass than say a large office shredder. These large shredders have heavy duty motors which are powerful and able to handle the heavy workloads. Whereas a large office shredder and most shredders in general require a cool down period, heavy duty paper shredders are able to keep shredding without lengthy cool down periods – which can really slow things down if you have a daily shredding schedule. What then is the difference between a heavy duty paper shredder and a commercial shredder?
A commercial shredder would be one more suited for location in a basement or loading bay area, with a 400 volt 32 amp three phase power supply. They need the same space as a small or medium size car and would serve the shredding requirements of an entire building. They would usually be conveyor fed. Heavy Duty Shredders sometimes referred to as ddepartmental shredders are popular in offices, banks and government buildings and can shred up to 100 sheets of paper at a time depending on the make and model of machine. Intimus and Dahle are the true manufacturers of Heavy Duty Shredders, although a few other shredder manufacturers claim their paper shredders to be heavy duty or high capacity. Heavy Duty paper shredders are available in either a strip cut or cross cut with security levels ranging between security level 2 through to DIN 4 We are updating our range of Heavy Duty Shredders.
